The Crime Guard 328i4 alarm has all
the features you look for in a simple, user-installable car security system. Two
4-buttons remote controls are included — each remote can control up to three
vehicles armed with Crime Guard alarms.
If you've left your car at a garage or
parking lot, then you know the uneasy feeling of wondering if somebody
(mechanic, valet, etc.) has managed to code an additional transmitter. Automatic
Transmitter Verification (ATV) lets you know (with a flashing LED) how many
transmitters are currently coded to operate the system. If the LED indicates
more than the usual number of remotes have been coded, simply recode your
remotes to prevent a potential thief from disarming the system.
Valet Mode allows you to turn off all the
"alarm" functions, while retaining the use of remote convenience features such
as keyless entry, panic mode, and the auxiliary output (trunk open, etc.). The
328i4 also features a plug-in port for easy installation of an optional sensor
(shock sensor, motion sensor, etc.).
The Vehicle Recovery feature affords
protection against carjacking. The process can be set off when:
someone grabs your keys and starts the
car,
someone opens the door when you're inside
and the car is running,
you activate it with the remote.
Once the Vehicle Recovery process starts, a
code must be entered within 60 seconds, or the alarm activates — the starter
interrupt (if connected) will engage 30 seconds later.
